A new chapter for 10k Science

Major milestones on our journey with 10k Science

As we enter a new school year, we’re excited to share some pivotal updates that mark a big turning point for 10k Science. Over the past year, we’ve been focused on building something truly unique in the world of science education, and today, we’re announcing three major milestones that underscore our progress.

MILESTONE 1

NIH grant secures two years of product development

We’re proud to announce that we have been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), securing two years of dedicated product development.

This funding will allow us to expand on the model that makes 10k Science special: using real data from real scientists. We’re not just creating content; we’re translating the cutting-edge research of working scientists into immersive experiences that engage students in a way that traditional textbooks simply can’t. This grant enables us to deepen our collaboration with the Lawrence Hall of Science, ensuring that our content is not only aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) but also seamlessly integrated into classroom curricula.

MILESTONE 2

We were accepted into the 500 Global accelerator

On the same day we received the NIH grant news, we learned that we have been accepted into the 500 Global accelerator program.

This is more than just a step forward; it’s a leap. Joining 500 Global marks our evolution from an innovative educational initiative into a full-fledged startup. The program will provide us with invaluable mentorship, resources, and industry connections, empowering us to scale our impact. We’re excited to join a community of startups that are reshaping industries, and we’re ready to bring that same kind of transformation to science education.’

MILESTONE 3

10k Science launched on the Meta

Horizon Store

Finally, we’re excited to share that 10k Science is now available on the Meta Horizon Store.

For those who’ve followed our journey, you know that we’ve always been about making world-class science education accessible. Being on App Lab was a start, but now, with our presence in the Meta Horizon Store, it’s easier than ever for students, teachers, and science enthusiasts to discover our app. This isn’t just about visibility; it’s about making sure that the groundbreaking science happening today reaches the classrooms of tomorrow.

What’s Next?

As we celebrate these milestones, our focus remains clear: to change science education from a passive, jargon-heavy exercise in memorization to an immersive experience that connects students directly to the world of real science. With the support of the NIH, the guidance from 500 Global, and the broader reach of the Meta Horizon Store, we’re more committed than ever to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in education.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to share more with you soon.
