VR Science Communication Bootcamp

Calling all scientists and researchers with complex data sets.

Visualize your research data in VR using 10k Science

Researchers with 3D structural datasets especially encouraged to apply here.

About the Bootcamp

Our Science Communications bootcamps are professional development experiences designed for early-stage researchers (grad students, postdocs) in the sciences to work with virtual reality data visualization techniques to better communicate their research.

During our 2 week bootcamp, you will:

  • Create VR experiences using your data

  • Receive feedback from experts in science communications

  • Work with 10k Science Creator – our cutting-edge VR visualization suite.

  • Learn about other tools that may help you visualize and communicate your data

All bootcamp participants receive a Meta Quest 3s device.

Yours to keep during and after the bootcamp.

Application for 10k Science VR Data Communication Bootcamp

Feel free to apply for one or multiple bootcamp session dates.
We look forward to working with you to visualize your research!

Feedback from previous bootcamps

Creating the 3D experiences helped participants gain different perspectives on their own research, which inspired new ideas for information they want to explore and communicate.

Participants and panelists want to use the experiences they have created from the bootcamp to help inform other scientists about the value of using 3D visualizations to communicate their findings.

Panelists sensed that they could see “light bulbs” appear during conversations with the participants. These were moments when participants realized a new way of thinking about or presenting their data.
